This is a police observation tower, used liberally in suburban shopping mall parking lots to put a bite on crime. According to the Brooklyn police blotter, Front Street has been the site of a few muggings lately. You, keeper of the polite blog, should write a thank you note to your local precinct for looking out for the safety of you and your neighbors.
